Founder Story

Allison Beninato has spent more than 25 years working in and alongside conventional healthcare across clinical, administrative, credentialing, contracting, billing, and revenue cycle roles spanning cardiology, family practice, ophthalmology, dental, pharmacy, and other specialties. Through her healthcare consulting business, she worked directly with providers and organizations navigating credentialing, enrollment, contracting, compliance, revenue cycle management, and operational challenges.

At the same time, Allison has spent more than 12 years immersed in complementary and alternative medicine, pursuing her own education and credentials, operating a natural health consulting practice, and actively participating in the CAM community. Working across both conventional and complementary healthcare provided a unique perspective into two systems that often share the same goal of improving patient outcomes, yet operate under very different educational, credentialing, and verification frameworks.

Over time, one challenge became increasingly apparent. While conventional healthcare relies on established credentialing and verification systems, CAM credentials are often distributed across hundreds of educational institutions, certifying bodies, professional organizations, and training pathways. Understanding what a credential represents, where it originated, and how it compares to other educational pathways often requires significant research, even for experienced healthcare professionals.

In 2021, Allison founded the Inspire Collaborative Health Association (ICHA), a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening collaboration between conventional and complementary healthcare providers while helping patients access more coordinated, multidimensional care. Through that work, she witnessed growing demand for greater integration, along with the need for more transparent and trusted credential information across the profession. It became increasingly clear that meaningful integration requires a foundation of trust, transparency, and understanding between providers, institutions, organizations, and patients.

CAMcerta was created to help meet that need by bringing transparency, consistency, and independent verification to the CAM credential landscape. By working directly with educational institutions, certifying organizations, licensing bodies, and practitioners, CAMcerta creates a centralized system of record that helps practitioners demonstrate their qualifications and helps institutions, organizations, hospitals, insurers, and patients better understand the credentials behind them. In turn, that transparency can support stronger collaboration, more informed healthcare decisions, greater integration of care, improved patient experiences, and ultimately better patient outcomes.

Why CAMcerta Exists

As integrative healthcare continues to grow, the need for trusted credential information has never been greater. CAMcerta was created to bring transparency, consistency, and primary-source verification to a field that has long lacked a centralized system of record for credentials.

Our Mission
To increase trust, transparency, and understanding across complementary and alternative medicine through independent credential verification and a reliable system of record for CAM credentials.
